Here is some of my work for ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’. In the beginning, the design team had a lot of discussions about the technology - being somewhat set in a retrofuture world. One of the major points was the vehicles. They would tell us so much about the world, the resources and the mindset of the people - we had to figure it out to paint a believable civilization. I had so much fun during this project and I learned so much. Vehicles are DIFFICULT! Shout out to my man Lee Oscar Meyer who has put a lot of work into these vehicles. I truely loved the spirit within the design team. I'm always very happy when there is so much open communication between the designer and the concept artists. Getting everybody together in one room and just blasting out ideas together. I wish more designers would understand the beauty of that method. Cheers to Hannah Brückmann, Thomas Möhring and the designer Uli Hanisch and the rest of the design team!
