MATRIX 4 - MACHINE TECH

This is my machine tech design for the Matrix 4: Resurrections. One of my main tasks on the project was to come up with the design for the evolution of the machines. The viewer is supposed to notice that the machines have evolved over the last sixty years without wandering too far away from the visual style of the original films. I was provided with an ancient physical folder with twenty-year-old artworks from the great Geof Darrow. H. R. Giger influenced the original movies the most so I took the main design ques from him as well. I delved deep into his world as I have never done before in a research phase, analizing the design language on a level I usually don't have time for. This was maybe the greatest challenge for me during the project since I had to go way out of my comfort zone. In the end there were a lot of 3d printed panels and patterns which can be found in the background throughout the movie.
