THE SWARM - YRR

Again, a couple more pieces from my artwork for the German TV series 'Der Schwarm' (The Swarm) based on Frank Schätzing's bestseller from 2004. Designing the Yrr was obviously the most challenging part of the project. We didn't want the Yrr to became a cheesy CG fest so we took most inspiration from real life and combined it with analogue effects. The art of Roman Hill was also great inspiration for the design of the Yrr to a point where we got him to work on the project as well. The development process took us the better part of the year and I produced over 50 illustrations in search of the final design. It was a quite painful at times but ultimatley one of the greatest challenges I had to conquer in my life designwise.
