THE HUNGER GAMES - THE STATUES

Here are some more examples of my work for ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’. I created most of these concepts after the film was shot, using still shots from the movie, concepts from other concept artists (in this case from Thomas Möhring), and the knowledge that everything from here on out would be done with vfx and not with physical sets. This kind of work is very different from my usual projects, because I have much less creative freedom and more constraints. I call them ‘VFX concepts’ because they are meant to show how the final piece fits into the larger picture, which has been shaped by many different minds. They usually feel somewhat unfinished to me, because they are not the final product, but rather a guide for the vfx team.

This concept is also a paintover, strongly based on a concept from Thomas Möhring (check it out!)

This was a very quick one, and as far as I remember the very last image I produced for the film.
